The longest-running experimental music festival in the United States is back! NorCal Noisefest, a free all-ages three day, seventy band celebration of noise is happening from October 2nd to October 4th, online at www.YouTube.com/norcalnoisfest.
Performances will include both live and pre-recorded segments. The festival will also include Zoom meetups to allow performers and participants can socialize between and after the performances. Though the line-up is mostly local to NorCal, the online format means that this year there are more international acts as well such as Greece’s ego death, God Pussy from Brazil, KOMPRIPIOTR from Italy, and Hidenori Noguchi from Japan. Local performers include such regulars as INSTAGON, UBERKUNST, chopstick, Big City Orchestra, and Liver Cancer, as well as new to the fest bands like FABI, EGO DEATH (out of Sacramento, not to be confused with the Greek band) alongside living legends of experimental music like G.X. Jupitter-Larsen and The Weatherman (from Negativland) and well-known performers from other music scenes like Jason Walton of Agalloch. This year’s Noisefest will also feature a Sunday simulcast by UBUIBI Radio.
