TUBE. is currently accepting submissions for our next print issue. We are looking for visual artists, photographers, poets and writers who are experiencing our current climate. Issue 10 will be a visual and poetic look into quarantine/sheltering in place, how it is affecting our community, our art, our way of life and our world. We are looking for thoughtful and complete pieces of artwork, photo stories, poetry, and micro-memoirs. We invite you to consider all that is happening in the world now and are open to ideas beyond what is listed below. Submissions may include but are not limited to the following.
Photo stories consisting of 5-15 photos of your personal experience during the pandemic. Photos should be cohesive and will tell a story solely through imagery. Photography documenting the experience of being sheltered in place and/or quarantined, the effects of the coronavirus within your household and/or our community, the community’s reaction to the pandemic, or documentation of your creative expression (dance/installation/fashion/household chores/etc.) will all be considered. This can be as simple as documenting everyday home life in solitude, as intense as photojournalism in a hospital or anything in between.
Visual Artwork created in response to the pandemic. Artwork may be a single piece or series. Painting, drawing, photography, collage, mixed media, sculpture, installation may be considered.
Film/video/new media may be considered for an online feature.
Imagery of makeshift studios and/or other changes deemed necessary in response of continuing on with creative work.
Micro-Memoirs 1000 words or less.
Poetry 500 words or less.
Submissions may be emailed to TUBEmag@gmail.com with ‘Issue 10 Submission’ in the subject line. Please include a link to your work, your bio and a statement about the work to be considered. Work must be original to the artist and must not have been previously published. Submissions must be received no later than April 27 at 11:59 PM. Those who do not follow submission guidelines will not be considered.
Image file specifications. Images should be sent as jpegs. Files should be emailed as web size with the largest side no larger than 1080 in length and the file size not exceeding 1 MB. No borders or watermarks added to the image. If your submission is accepted we will reach out with instructions on how to send large files.
Because TUBE. is a passion project run by volunteers, there is no compensation given to those who contribute. Upon request, we can send you a copy of the issue you are featured in.
