The Crocker Art Museum kicked off the 2019 ArtMix season with “Glow”. This high energy blacklight party featured Obsidian Butterfly Light dancers, Resolve Circles Group, The Lorelei Bayne Project, Green Valley Theatre puppeteers and house music by DJ Pocket.
Glow was a huge success! It was a packed house and a full dance floor. On the main stage, Resolve Circles Group warmed up and captivated the audience with a trio of dancers performing with lighted hula hoops. They were followed by Obsidian Butterfly dance duo who put on a solid show using multiple light sources and props. It was a wonderful performance and the crowd really got into it.
The Lorelei Bayne Project performed a choreographed dance routine on the main dance floor with sound provided by Miguel Cervantes. The Green Valley Theatre puppeteers danced amongst the crowd all evening in life-size puppet costumes.
It was a great crowd at Art Mix. Lots of attendees came in costume and wore fun clothing that worked well with the black lights. Numerous guests had their bodies painted by Rich Diltz or had their Glimmer makeup done by Frederick Beauty Institute.
TUBE. is looking forward to seeing Planet Booty (free your cheeks and your mind will follow) and their electro-funk groove at next months ArtMix “Joy”. Learn more about Crocker events here.
