Creators to Watch: Sishir Bommakanti

The Anthropocene by Sishir Bommakanti

Minneapolis-based artist Sishir Bommakanti revels in chaos and the strange. His work is vibrant and full of myth and movement. “I experiment in both digital and traditional media to complement the deliberate foundation of my process. Involving deconstruction, distortion and assemblage, I arrange elements within a composition to create a legacy of layers that adds substance to form,” Bommakanti told TUBE.

He also loves to work with a variety of subject matter. “I explore and obsess over subjects on the fringe; such as the morbid, mythological, historical, paranormal and surreal. Often overlooked or disregarded, these subjects offer me the opportunity to research, learn about dark corners of history and discover narratives that have been obscured over time.”
