An Electric Christmas.

Radio 94.7 presented Electric Christmas at the Golden 1 Center to a sold-out crowd on December 7, 2017. This year’s edition of the annual show was a tight affair, with three chart-topping bands playing sets that pleased both those who came to hear the hits and their longtime fans.

Walk the Moon, fronted by the energetic Nicholas Petricca got the show going with their brand of synth pop-rock songs that were well received by early arriving fans. After a short break, Portugal. The Man, which is riding high on the success of their worldwide smash “Feel It Still” came out. Hitting the stage to the ominous sounds of Metallica, those expecting a retro-pop set were in for a surprise as the group launched into a dark, psychedelic version of their signature indie rock sound.

In between the sets, 94.7’s own DJ Zephyr entertained the crowd with his electronic mash-ups and remixes. The headliners of the show, The Lumineers, who are wrapping up a world tour in support of their Cleopatra album strode on to rapturous cheers following Fleetwood Mac’s classic hit, “The Chain.” The Denver based band has a number of radio hits and they gave their many fans all the familiar songs from their last two albums, including; “Ophelia,” “Ho Hey,” “Cleopatra” and even a touching tribute to Tom Petty with his song “Walls.” The band closed the show with fan favorite “Stubborn Love,” sending the crowd home on a high after strong performances by the whole lineup.
