A Short List: First Friday.

We know this long weekend will most likely be filled with backyard BBQs and fireworks, however before you settle into flag themed outfits and too many beers why not hit the town and catch some rad local art, for it is First Friday my friends and there is a ton to see.  Oh, and did we mention all of these things are FREE!

Clarissa Pezone creates incredible sculptures of human figures intertwined with barnacles, flowers, bugs… they are really fascinating.  Catch her at the 1810 Gallery tonight for the opening reception of Exquisite Corpse.  Find more information here.

13419145_1055159257891866_6289151296922030946_nBeatnik Studios is hosting the Aerial Evolution Student Showcase tonight.  Beyond aerial performances, there will be music by the Riverrun Jazz Quartet and you can catch the gallery’s current exhibit “BRIDGES” by Cherie Hacker and Jeffery DeVore.  Lots going on here that you don’t want to miss, learn more about the event here.
