Spring Fling Rock AF kicked off their second night of touring here in Sacramento CA on March 12, 2016. The night was jammed pack with rock and alternative artists from all over the world and well attended. Bear Hands, a New York band, kicked off the night with their own version of indie rock. Halfway through their set they grabbed the crowd’s attention by playing one of their biggest hits “Giants.” Next up was UK band Foals who kept the night rocking by playing songs from their new album What Went Down including songs like “Birch Tree” and “What Went Down.” Lead singer Yannis Philippakis ended the band’s set by jumping into the crowd. From a little closer to home, Los Angeles natives SilverSun Pickups showed their versatility by playing both slower and more upbeat tunes while still keeping the crowd fully engaged with songs from “Circadian Rhythm” to “Panic Switch.”  Closing out the night, Cage the Elephant came roaring into the stage with more than enough energy to bring the whole arena to their feet. During Cage the Elephant’s set, the crowd was everywhere from lighting up the arena with their lighters and cellphones to their song “Telescope” to clapping it up to the hit “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked.” The lead singer and front man, Matthew Shultz, didn’t miss a beat as they jumped around the stage ending Sacramento’s own taste of Spring Fling Rock AF.
