Separate Spines is going on a Northern California tour to get the world ready for their exciting new music! They are even giving listeners a sneak peek at their new EP. Joining them on their tour will be Wet Hotline, Genuis, Leland Vandermeulen, Corpse Pose, and many more bands. I can see your fortune: you will be at this week’s Art Mix! On January 14, from 5 PM to 9 PM, Crocker Art Museum (216 O Street) will be holding the Art Mix: Mystique. San Kazakgascar and Crocker’s in house DJ Larry Rodriguez will be spinning some groovy and exotic tunes. There will be fortune telling, spirit mask making, and belly dancing. Gentleman Surfer at Starlite Lounge

Sacramento’s adventure rock icons, Gentleman Surfer will be hosting a fun experimental show at the Starlite Lounge (1517 21st St) on January 15, starting at 8 PM. Joining them will be ROLAND, Bay Area instrumental math rock, Reptoid, Bay Area noise rock, and Modern Man, Sacramento progressive and psychedelic rock. It’s 21+ with a $7 cover. If you’re into the type of music with a little bit more behind it than just beer and distortion pedals, this is the show for you. More here.

Here’s the show for all you young punx! Sacramento’s favorite crusty grindcore band, Khaos Assault, has put together an awesome lineup for this Friday night show. On January 15 at 7 PM, The Colony (3512 Stockton Blvd) is hosting some great bands for $5-6. Joining Khaos Assault will be Beerlords (Sacramento punk rock), Death Rogen (skate punk), Blessed Curse (death/thrash punk), and Public Execution (hardcore punk). Dust off your Doc Martens and old spikey jacket, TSOL is back in Sac! On January 17th, from 8 PM to 12 AM, TSOL will bring back your internalized hatred of government and authority for one night at the Blue Lamp (1400 Alhambra Blvd).
