Raise your hand if you have ever pledged to be more appreciative of the little things in life in the new year. Yeah, me too.
And it’s an admirable goal. When we make space for life’s sweet momentary treasures – little Easter eggs you get to find each day – our lives become richer. This quick and simple DIY project will bring you the gift of appreciation in 2016. If you want to be super lazy (pictured) you simply need three tools: a jar, a pen, paper.

The idea is to start writing joys you experience down in January and continue through the year. It can be anything that brings you pleasure — from a new friend or a first kiss to a warm exchange with a stranger. Nothing is too small — write them all down! It will put life into perspective and remind you of the simple gifts we regularly receive.
Being appreciative is one of the best habits to get into. If you want to keep up with this project, decorate the jar differently for each season and you will stay engaged with this simple DIY project throughout the year. This project can be as simple or as fancy as you make it — the only requirement is that you count your blessings in 2016. Cheers!
