Gabrielle’s voice sounds about ten years older than the 17 year old singer. The up and coming LA singer has a beautiful bluesy voice and writes songs like an old soul. She has so far managed to sidestep the twin pitfalls of teenage musicians everywhere: her music is neither the manic pop of the autotuned teenie bopper scene nor the angst-ridden grunge of the angry/emo set. Instead, she creates atmospheric songs that evoke Lana Del Ray, Hozier, and Adele without seeming like a childish imitation.
Performing both covers and originals, Gabrielle has been making regular appearances around the city of angels, including several shows at Kulak’s Woodshed. She is playing Room 5 in Los Angeles on January 9th with her accompanist Jonathan Torres. The show starts at 7 pm and tickets are $10 on Tunestub or at the door. Room 5 is located at 2nd Fl, 143 N La Brea Ave, Los Angeles.
Gabrielle is a talented young lady, already an interesting artist in her own right. If you are in LA, come out and see her, she’s bound to be famous soon. Check her out here.
