Showing of Pennies from Heaven
Pennies from Heaven is a fantastic film starring Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters about struggle and overcoming hardship. It will be screened at the Crest Theatre on Dec. 27th at 7 p.m. Film junkies will appreciate that Pennies from Heaven is being shown on 35mm film. $8-10 cover. The Crest is at 1013 K St, Sacramento.

Directions Exhibit

Beatnik Studios’ newest exhibit is a group show called Directions. The 12 artists were chosen to participate by artist Robert Ortbal. The works consist of various mediums including paintings, sculptures, and digital installations. Admission is free through the duration of the exhibit, Dec. 4 through Dec. 30, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding Christmas), at 723 S St., Sacramento.

PONX Presents, a group that helps local bands get shows in Sacramento, is hosting hardcore punk band, Vacant Youth’s tape release on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. Join RAD, DEATH ROGEN, Cross Class and Gnarcotic for this all-ages show. Cover is $5 and begins at 8 p.m. at Casa De Chaos.

7th Annual Macy’s Theatre of Lights

Macy's Theatre Of Lights
Every year, the Macy’s Theatre of Lights illuminates Old Sacramento for holiday cheer and bright memories. The show is held on the roofs of buildings on K St., with two shows at 6:15 and 7:45 p.m. through Dec. 31 (excluding Christmas). During this menagerie of expertly crafted sound and lighting, the story of early pioneers creating K Street and a dramatization of ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas. Plus, there are tons of shops and restaurants open to go enjoy when the show done. Don’t miss this brilliant show.
