SELECT SEX AT CASA DE CHAOS!: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14

A fun all ages show this upcoming Saturday! Headliner is Select Sex, a touring punk rock band from Los Angeles. There are some super cool local bands playing as well, such as Death Rogen, the BLISTER BRATS, Khaos Assault, and Pisscat. It starts at 8pm, at the legendary Sacramento venue CASA DE CHAOS! Ask a punk for the address!

CHILLIN’ ON THE PORCH: BOOK FAIR AND CRAFTS: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, UC DAVIS WOMEN’S CENTER (113 NORTH HALL)

This is the UC Davis’ women’s resources and research center’s quarterly book sale, but they mixed it up this time by adding crafting! You can come by, check out a few books, and then relax for a while by making buttons, zines, or paintings. Cool and fun DIY day to help out this awesome center, go check it out! It goes from November 16-November 19, from 10am to 4pm.

COLONY THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY SHOW: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 3512 STOCKTON BLVD (THE COLONY)

On November 18th at 7pm, the Colony is celebrating its third year anniversary with an exciting night of local bands. The bill features Rat Damage (a Sacramento punk rock staple), Cresca (an upcoming psychedelic rock band), Second to Last (a breath of fresh pop punk air), and more. The cost is $7, but with a night full of delicious fries from the next door Cafe Colonial and music from eight different bands, it’ll be worth your while!

ART AND ACTIVISM PANEL DISCUSSION: CROCKER ART MUSEUM (216 O St)

At 6pm on Thursday, November 19, in the first presentation of the Crocker’s new Art Beyond Fear series, activist artists will gather to share their commentary on the Black Lives Matter movement and how they have responded to civil rights violations with their art.

THE LIPSTICK WEEKENDER (INDIE ROCK/DANCE/POP/BRIT POP): Old Ironsides (10th & S Sacramento) 21+

DJs Shaun Slaughter & Roger Carpio will be playing the best indie pop, rock, dance, and Britpop gems at the Old Ironsides Saturday, November 21, for the Lipstick Weekender. Before 10, this show is free, so head on over for a hot dance party to some classic indie treasures.

ASTERISK CLOTHING FAIRE: UC DAVIS LGBTQIA RESOURCE CENTER (397 Hutchison Dr., Davis, 95616)

The Asterisk Clothing Faire is providing free clothes and basic clothing alterations for transgender and gender-nonconforming folks at the UC Davis LGBTQIA Resource Center on Friday, November 20, from 3pm to 6pm. This event brings a welcome and judgement-free environment for everyone’s shopping experience.

MILO ON THE WALL ROOFTOP: WAREHOUSE ARTIST LOFTS (1108 R St., Sacramento, CA 95811)

For the last installment of the rooftop performances at the Artist Lofts, the Wisconsin rapper milo, accompanied by S.al, Kenny Segal, and Michael RJ Saalman, will be performing. Catch this must-see show on Friday, November 20.

SACRAMENTO HARVEST FESTIVAL: NOVEMBER 20-22, 1600 EXPOSITION BLVD (CAL EXPO)

This is one of the more widespread events on this list. From November 20-22, at Cal Expo, Sacramento is having our yearly harvest festival! This is super kid friendly, there’s a whole section for just the little ones called the “KidZone”. But it’s not just for kids, there’s over 24,000 unique items for anyone to look over including art, jewelry, clothes, and more.

THE ART AUCTION AT VERGE CENTER: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 625 S STREET (VERGE CENTER FOR THE ARTS)

THE Art Auction is returning to the Verge Center on November 21, at 5:30 PM. This event is for people who are truly dedicated to art and ready to invest in this event, as the price is $75 in advance and $100 at the door ($50 for Verge members). However, it’d definitely be worth it. There will be pieces shown from local artists in the Verge’s gallery, and at 7pm, there will be a silent auction. Come admire the art, or pick up some of your own!
