The Jack Kerouac Poetry Contest is hosted each year by the John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis, CA. Prizes will be awarded to poems that honor and emulate the spirit of the Beat Generation. Contestants will have a chance at winning cold hard cash as well as an invitation to attend and read at the Jazz Beat Conference on October 16, 2015.
PRIZES
• First Prize: Invitation to read at the Jazz Beat Conference on October 16th, and a check for $150.00.
• Second Prize: Invitation to read at the Jazz Beat Conference, and a check for $75.00.
• Third Prize: Invitation to read at the Jazz Beat Conference, and a check for $25.00.
• Honorable Mention: Top poets will be invited to read at the Jazz Beat Conference on October 16th.
• The winning poems will also be considered for publication in the Blue Moon Literary and Art Review, edited by University of the Pacific professor Scott Evans. The winner will receive an opportunity to read their work on “Dr. Andy’s Poetry and Technology Hour” on air at KDVS (90.3).
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Send a maximum of three poems not to exceed 6 total pages. Entries must be the original work of the contestant. There is no entrance fee, though you are expected to attend the revelation of winners on October 16th.

Submissions are due by midnight on October 9th, 2015. Winners will be announced at on October 16 at 8 PM at the John Natsoulas Gallery, 521 1st Street in Davis.
