TBD Fest and TUBE. Magazine go way back. The magazine has been covering the Sacramento festival since it was called Launch Fest and rocked Cesar Chavez Park back in 2012. The festival was started by Michael Hargis as a one day ‘art party’ in 2008 and has since evolved considerably. Now a three day event with big name headliners and a new name, TBD is set to light up the Bridge District yet again this year. And yet again, TUBE. will be there to cover the rollicking good times.

This year’s festival is running from September 18th to the 20th and has a lineup that boasts of big names like Chromeo, Tears for Fears, and Tyler the Creator, but also gives smaller local artists space to flourish. TBD covers more than music, giving festival-goers samplings of art, food, beer, fashion, design, and more. There is great emphasis on curating creativity and creating a relevant, exciting scene to bring together up and coming ideas in various fields. With the start of the event, a veritable maze of booths and carnival amusements will spring up behind Raley Stadium, populating the dusty earth like urban daisies. This year will be the biggest incarnation yet, with a three more stages than last year, 90 bands playing over the three days, and several artist installation pieces.

And this year TUBE. has transcended media coverage, joining the event for the first time with a booth and the launch of our very first print edition. Debuting our paper publication at an amazing creative gathering that is fast becoming a staple of the Sacramento scene was a no-brainer. Here’s looking to many more years together, TBD.
