NIGHTLANDS SHARES NEW VIDEO FOR “SO FAR SO LONG” FROMOAK ISLAND & ANNOUNCES SOLO TOUR
Nightlands, the project of sci-fi wizard and unstoppable noise machine Dave Hartley, is keeping the space age dream alive! In 2013, Nightlands released the excellent album, Oak Island, on Secretly Canadian, performed an original score to 2001: A Space Odyssey live, took us “To The Moon” and back, conducted a multi-city run with a 5-piece choir, and trekked across the eastern US with his trusty backing band. Now, it’s time for the intrepid bard to head west, alone. Playing many cities for the first time this year and touring solo to boot, Hartley will sing, interact with analog drum machines and stretch his guitar playing into Maggot Brain worlds. To kick off the journey, Noisey premiered the new video for the album’s first single, “So Far So Long.” Director David Kessler captured footage for the video in February 2013 on the northern coast of Iceland during his one-month residency at NES in Skagaströnd as part of the international multi-media group show, Due North. Nightlands is due west so catch him in a city near you. More dates are forthcoming.
