Listen to Jacco Gardner’s new single, “The End of August,” out September 24th on Trouble in Mind

Jacco Gardner by Nick Helderman_hi_res2_preview2013 continues to be an exciting year for twenty-five year old Dutch multi-instrumentalist Jacco Gardner. After successful European and U.S. tours in support of his inviting and sophisticated debut album, Cabinet of Curiositiesplus the release of two superb singles, Gardner returns with two new, exclusive tracks — “The End of August” and “Notus” — just in time for his first coast-to-coast tour, kicking off October 1st. Recorded at his own Shadow Shoppe Studios in Swaag, Netherlands where Gardner played all the instruments himself, save for drums by Jos van Tol, “The End Of August” features a gentle, lilting guitar strum & bubbling mellotron before kicking into a subtle, driving chorus that perfectly captures the ennui one feels as summer ends & fall begins. “Notus” is a loping, lysergic instrumental that pitches a tent between the works of Perrey-Kingsley & Stereolab. It flirts with a slightly progressive song structure, moving beyond the Syd Barret-influenced baroque-pop of Gardner’s earlier works. The perfect single to usher in Autumn, “The End of August” b/w “Notus” 7″ will be out September 24th on Trouble In Mind. The first 500 copies are pressed onto random colored vinyl.

Jacco (keys, vocals) and band – Jasper Verhulst (bass), Jos van Tol (drums) and Keez Groenteman (guitar) – return to North America next month for a nationwide tour.
