Something amazing is happening in Sacramento tomorrow! Australian artist Konstain Dimopoulos is visiting downtown Sacramento in order to paint our sycamore trees blue. He has already visited Westlake Park in Seattle, Vancouver Biennale Canada, and the Burke-Gilman Regional Trail in Kenmore Washington. The color used on the trees is biologically safe, pigmented water. They dye will naturally disappear eventually leaving the trees back into their original state. Come out tomorrow, October 9th, to 13th Street between J and K Streets, to watch the transformation begin. We will see you there!
To learn more about the artist, his process and to see some photos visit
I would suggest visiting 13th street between J and K either Thursday or Friday of this week when most of the trees have been freshly painted. It will be an awesome photo opportunity for those who take a camera. Chat with the support staff in front of the convention center – they can give you all sorts of information about local tree programs, the artist, his vision, and the project. The paint will last a few months , so if you can’t make it out this week, make a point to stop by next time you are downtown. The Blue Tree Project is near the Sacramento Convention Center and the IMAX theatre on 13th street.
